Round Top’s picturesque square, surrounded by antique shops and restaurants, offers

It has a unique 200-acre campus containing major performance facilities, historic houses, extensive gardens parks and nature preserves. The Festival-Institute is also known as an important center for research and scholarly study. 

An Old Car buff: or want-to-be? Round Top is just the place to go to: Sterling B McCall, Jr. has established an extensive old car museum a short 5 miles south of Round Top in the hamlet of Warrenton. There you can meander through the past from 1908-1967. The museum is air conditioned and you can tour at your leisure.

Shakespeare at Winedale is housed in the Texas countryside, at the University Of Texas Winedale Historical Center. Students from the Austin based U of Texas perform in a century-old German hay barn that has been converted into an Elizabethan-style theatre. 

If you are a true shopper and don’t need an excuse to do it: Round Top is the perfect place to be on any given week end. There are “Dazzle Days” through out the year where you can experience progressive shopping experiences with a theme: Winter Daze, Music Daze., Salsa Daze, to name a few.

All through the area are wildflower trails that are blazing with the color of 
Phlox, bluebonnets, Indian paintbrush, Evening primrose and various others. Maps are available to follow by car, bike, or motorcycle. The beauty of springtime in this south Texas hill country cannot be described, only viewed.

Historical Parks in the area: 
Monument Hill and Kreische Brewery State Historical Park is located one mile south of LaGrange, Texas. The park includes the Kreische Brewery and Home where Heinrich Kreische, a master stone mason, acquired in 1846. The site is the first commercial brewery in Texas. The facility includes picnic sites; nature trails and the historical monument and tomb

Painted Churches Tour:
Available to the south of Round Top is the famous Painted Churches, featuring authentic 19th Century European style churches from German, Czech, and other similar cultures in the countryside toward Schulenburg and Flatonia.

For those who seek out the unusual and rewarding challenge, there are nine golf courses within a 50 mile area. Each course has its own unique ability to challenge the master; or master wannabe.
